Roseville is constantly bringing residents together with its many art and cultural activities. The two-day One Root Festival, which Roseville has hosted for the past nine years, is the best example. The mission of the One Root Festival is to create an environment for all people to share and experience cultural traditions by celebrating unity in the community through a diversity of food, arts, and music. Besides the plethora of events and performances available for adults, the featured Youth Village grows larger every year with events showing children how to play the African Talking Drum, how to use a chopstick as well as how to create bottle dolls and more. This regional festival and the work that goes into it exemplify the possibilities available when individuals accept to work as a unit toward a common goal.

Art events and classes abound throughout Roseville. Every third Saturday of the month, a special “Art Tour” takes place throughout Roseville. All art galleries and art-friendly businesses present a reception-style event, offering a unique variety of art and media. For lovers of live music, Roseville’s famous Music in the Park is a popular event where families can enjoy a picnic outside while listening to lovely melodies. During the summer, Downtown Tuesday Nights features live bands as well as different vendors lining the historic Old Town Vernon Street.

Roseville’s historical landmarks add charm and character to the city. The Maidu Interpretive Center and Historic Site is a beautiful site rich in Native American history. You can find ancient petroglyphs (rock art) and hundreds of bedrock mortars (acorn grinding holes), and other evidence of Nisenan (southern Maidu) occupation. The Center is also an ideal place for anyone who wants to indulge in a beautiful natural surrounding. The Linda Creek/Strap Ravine runs on the southern part of the area. The nature area, studded with beautiful oak trees, offers a loop trail that takes you through the historical sites. Inside the museum you'll find exhibits portraying the Maidu way of life.

The Tower Theatre, originally built in 1940, has been an important site for art and culture throughout the years. To this day, it is used for arts and entertainment and is run by the Magic Circle Theatre. This theater presents a full schedule of musicals, mysteries, comedies, children's theater, youth musical workshops and concerts in the historic Roseville Theater.

Roseville has several museums the whole family can enjoy. The Carnegie Museum was created in order to give residents and visitors a taste of the past. The walking tour of historic Roseville is one of the main highlights. The museum is located at the site of The Carnegie Library, funded by Andrew Carnegie, was the city’s first permanent library that was constructed in 1912. In 1979, a new location near Royer Park was chosen to be the site of the main library. The Roseville Telephone Museum is free of admission and offers one of the most extensive collections of antique telephones and memorabilia in the nation.
